Position Overview: The Marketing and Communications Director for Rod & Staff Ministries leads the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that advance our mission of winning souls to Jesus Christ while highlighting the ministry’s vital work in medical care, education, and holistic development. This role involves creating compelling narratives, fostering strong relationships, and effectively positioning the ministry as a beacon of hope and transformation on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the ministry’s mission and objectives.
  • Lead a team of professionals across various communication disciplines, fostering collaboration, growth, and a unified approach.
  1. Brand Development and Management:
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a strong and consistent brand identity across all channels.
  • Ensure that the ministry’s values, mission, and impact are effectively communicated through all marketing materials.
  1. Content Creation and Storytelling:
  • Drive the creation of compelling and impactful content that showcases the ministry’s evangelistic efforts and holistic development programs.
  • Develop narratives that convey the stories of transformed lives, medical interventions, education initiatives, and entrepreneurial successes.
  1. Media Relations and Public Relations:
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets, influencers, and partners to amplify the ministry’s message and reach.
  • Respond to media inquiries, draft press releases, and proactively seek opportunities for media coverage.
  1. Digital and Social Media Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a digital strategy that maximizes the ministry’s online presence across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.
  1. Event Promotion and Outreach:
  • Oversee the promotion of ministry events, conferences, and initiatives, both in-person and virtual.
  • Utilize various channels to generate interest and registrations for events.
  1. Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with ministry leadership to align marketing and communication efforts with overall strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, stories, and updates for communication purposes.
  1. Crisis and Issues Management:
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage potential issues or sensitive situations effectively.
  1. Analytics and Reporting:
  • Monitor the performance of marketing campaigns and communication efforts using relevant analytics tools.
  • Provide regular reports that measure the impact of various initiatives and guide future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong personal commitment to the ministry’s values and mission, with a deep understanding of evangelistic strategies.
  • Proven leadership experience in developing and executing successful marketing and communication strategies for a non-profit, ministry, or related organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey spiritual and humanitarian messages effectively.
  • Experience in managing teams and fostering collaboration among cross-functional groups.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, content creation, and media relations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Previous experience in crisis communication and issues management is advantageous.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage with a global and diverse audience.
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Experience with event promotion and outreach is a plus.

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Executive Director. The role may involve occasional travel to ministry sites, events, and partner locations. Some flexibility in work hours may be necessary to accommodate different time zones for global outreach.
